Fire Safe
For example, a fire safe may be called a two-hour fire safe. This means that that particular safe can withstand certain temperatures, which you can find out the specifics of by reading more of the specifications of the product, for up to two hours. After the two hours has elapsed your fire safe may be compromised and with it your valuables it contains.
I think that if you have something of great value or importance you may want to reconsider buying a fire safe and instead opt to rent a safe deposit box. You can rent a safe deposit box by the month or by the year for a nominal fee at a post office or bank in your area.
Although some safe deposit boxes are not in a location that is accessible to you at any hour or any day, they may be much more protective of your valuables than a fire safe would be. Although many of us do not expect that our homes will be subject to a raging fire one day, if it were to meet such an unfortunate event your fire safe may not hold up as long as you need it to.
If you are trying to protect important personal or legal documents, it is a good idea to have your personal attorney keep a copy of such records at their office. That way, if your important documents were somehow destroyed, there would be a copy out there that you could get your hands on if you needed to. If you still think that you would prefer to own a fire safe rather than renting a safe deposit box, I suggest that you thoroughly research any model of safe you are considering buying before doing so.
In order to purchase a safe that will withstand very high temperatures for a long period of time you may have to shell out big bucks. You will have to decide how likely you think the threat of fire is and how much you're willing to spend on a sense of personal security that your valuables and important documents are protected.
