Our country has a serious issue with crime. Yes, I am addressing the red, white and blues states. We need to crack down on our offenders with a larger bat or something. Because it really doesn't seem like things are changing for the better.
Where does this leave the general public? I will tell you where it leaves us; shopping for the latest and greatest digital surveillance systems. We need grade A protection for our homes and families. It's not like the police are going to be there in a split second. What's currently keeping your home safe?
Home security cameras vary widely. There are complete systems available that include hidden cameras with equipment to record for 960 hours. The price for home security cameras like that runs about $615. Lower priced systems can go as low as $175. A low priced system is invariably black and white. 
The very best form of home security is making the right choices about who to bring into your house. If you allow many people come through your home that you don't really know, you expose yourself to danger. It is a good idea to limit the number of your children's friends you allow through your house as well. 
When I was a teenager, I had a crash course in security camera surveillance thanks to a girl I knew. Though I didn't know this girl very well, we hung out with the same people. She had gone into a small corner gas station and tried to shoplift a candy bar. Not only did she get caught, she got into a whole lot of trouble.

There is no question that the world is a more dangerous place today than it used to be.
